Archived memo deletion via discarded ownership lookup
Published Dec 28, 2022 · Updated Apr 10, 2025
Access control failure in Memos before 0.9.1 allows remote authenticated users to delete another user's archived memo by its numeric ID. The DELETE /memo/:memoId handler queries by both memo ID and caller ID but discards the lookup result, then deletes solely by the supplied memo ID. Any signed-in account that learns or guesses an archived memo ID can remove that record without the owner's authorization.
