Unauthenticated command execution via OpenVPN username
Published Jan 20, 2023 · Updated Apr 3, 2025
OS command injection in TOTOlink A7100RU firmware 7.4cu.2313_B20191024 allows remote attackers to execute commands via the web interface. The setOpenVpnCertGenerationCfg handler passes the username value through Uci_Set_Str, where snprintf builds a string that cstesystem sends to execv without neutralizing command syntax. A crafted POST to cstecgi.cgi reaches the handler without privileges and can execute commands with the router firmware process authority.
