Root command execution via unsanitized OpenVPN password
Published Jan 20, 2023 · Updated Apr 3, 2025
OS command injection in TOTOlink A7100RU 7.4cu.2313_B20191024 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via an OpenVPN password. The setOpenVpnCertGenerationCfg handler passes the password value through Uci_Set_Str and cstesystem to execv without neutralizing shell syntax. Network access to the router administration interface is sufficient, and injected commands execute with root privileges.
