YAML deserialization in IBM Aspera Faspex 4.4.2 Patch Level 1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. The unauthenticated package relay controller passes the external_emails parameter to YAML.load, allowing crafted objects to invoke Ruby gadget chains. A network request to the obsolete /package_relay/relay_package API requires no account or user interaction and executes commands in the Faspex server context.
