Request-scoped denial of service via inherited function dispatch
Published Mar 27, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper input validation in the validate endpoint of BSI CSAF Validator Service before 0.1.0 allows remote attackers to interrupt requests. The endpoint accepts unexpected test names and invokes inherited JavaScript object functions such as constructor, toString, and isPrototypeOf instead of restricting dispatch to defined validator tests. No authentication or user interaction is required, but the failure affects only the attacker's request and does not interrupt concurrent requests.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
