Information disclosure via unsafe XML response parsing
Published Apr 9, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
XXE in the SAP interpreter in Apache Zeppelin 0.8.0 through 0.10.1 allows remote attackers to read server-accessible data. UniverseClient parses XML responses from the configured SAP server with a default DocumentBuilderFactory that permits external DTD and entity resolution. Exploitation requires Zeppelin to connect the interpreter to an attacker-controlled SAP endpoint, and the reported impact is limited to confidentiality.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
