Administrator password reset via device identifier recovery
Published Oct 3, 2023 · Updated Sep 6, 2024
Use of hard-coded credentials in Riello UPS NetMan 204 all versions allows remote attackers to reset the administrator password over the network. The /cgi-bin/recoverpassword.cgi workflow treats the device MAC address and serial number as sufficient input to authorize the reset. Network access and knowledge of both identifiers are required; successful use replaces the administrator credential and grants control of the management account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
