Unauthenticated super-administrator access via predictable support passwords
Published Jan 25, 2023 · Updated Apr 1, 2025
Hidden functionality in Solar-Log Gateway firmware 4.2.7 through 5.1.1 allows remote attackers to gain super-administrator access. The slcore login function derives undocumented support-profile passwords from the device serial number and current date and accepts them during web-panel authentication. The login page exposes both inputs without authentication, enabling access to restricted configuration functions.
