Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode CSS class
Published Jan 23, 2023 · Updated Apr 3, 2025
Stored XSS in GeoDirectory before 2.2.22 allows remote authenticated users with Contributor access to execute script in administrators' browsers. The gd_post_meta shortcode inserts its css_class attribute into page markup without validation or escaping, so a quote can introduce an event handler. Contributor access and a saved Place are required to store the payload; script executes when a higher-privileged user views the rendered page.
