Arbitrary file write via unvalidated ZIP entries
Published Dec 27, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in WIDOCO 1.4.17 and earlier allows local users to write extracted ZIP contents outside the destination directory. The unZipIt method joins each archive entry name to the output directory and writes the resulting path without normalization or a containment check. Exploitation requires a local user to supply a crafted ZIP entry; writes can overwrite accessible files and enable code execution when a strategically chosen file is replaced.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
