Credential disclosure via sessionless back-end requests
Published Jan 31, 2023 · Updated Mar 27, 2025
Authentication bypass in COMFAST CF-WR623N Router firmware 2.3.0.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to access back-end scripts. Back-end scripts accept direct requests without checking for a valid session, exposing the router configuration with administrator credentials and the Wi-Fi PSK in cleartext. The attacker must first reach the router's local network, but no router account or user interaction is required to read those secrets.
