CVE-2022-47660Public exploit

Media-processing disruption via unchecked signed subtraction

Published Jan 5, 2023 · Updated Apr 10, 2025

Integer overflow in GPAC MP4Box 2.1-DEV-rev644-g5c4df2a67 allows context-dependent attackers to disrupt processing via a crafted MP4 file. The file-import path at isomedia/isom_write.c:4931 subtracts two input-derived signed integers without a range check, producing undefined arithmetic. Triggering the flaw requires a user or application to process the file through the -cat import path; the public proof demonstrates sanitizer-detected overflow but not reliable code execution.
