SQL injection via unsanitized sort direction
Published Dec 22, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in FileRun 20220519 allows remote attackers to modify a user-list database query through the dir parameter. The user-list query appends the dir value directly after ORDER BY username, allowing a quote to break SQL syntax instead of constraining it to a sort direction. The proof-of-concept request includes a FileRun session cookie, while public sources do not establish whether unauthenticated requests reach this control-panel action.
