CVE-2022-47529Public exploit

Local code execution via memory-object ACL modification

Published Mar 28, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Incorrect access control in the Endpoint Windows Agent for RSA NetWitness Platform before 12.2 allows local users to execute commands via ACL modification. The agent creates a Win32 memory event object with an ACL that a standard Windows account can change, allowing the service configuration to be replaced with attacker-controlled commands. Local Windows access is required; exploitation can run user-supplied code or commands or stop event forwarding to the SIEM while bypassing tamper protection.
