CVE-2022-47522Public exploit

Frame interception via unpurged transmit queues

Published Apr 15, 2023 · Updated Feb 6, 2025

Authentication bypass in IEEE 802.11 through 802.11ax allows physically proximate attackers to intercept target-destined Wi-Fi frames. Access points retain queued frames when a client pairwise key is removed, then transmit them without encryption or under a group key after spoofed power-save and reassociation frames alter the client security context. The attacker must be within Wi-Fi range and able to inject management frames; leaked traffic can expose client data, while group-key decryption requires network credentials.
