Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Feb 21, 2023 · Updated Mar 13, 2025
Stored XSS in Jannik Portz WordPress Opening Hours 2.3.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script via shortcode attributes. The op-is-open shortcode places its classes attribute into page output without validation or escaping, allowing injected event-handler markup to persist. Contributor-level access and a configured Set are required, and a visitor must interact with the rendered element to trigger script execution in that visitor's browser.
