SYSTEM code execution via WorkerControllerWCFProxy deserialization
Published Feb 15, 2023 · Updated Mar 18, 2025
Deserialization in WorkerControllerWCFProxy in SolarWinds Platform 2022.4.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code. The function accepts user-supplied data without proper validation and deserializes it, enabling attacker-controlled code to run as SYSTEM. Orion administrator access to the Web Console is required, and successful exploitation compromises the host.
