Unauthenticated script execution via unescaped name
Published Mar 29, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Reflected XSS in ProfilePress 4.5.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts in a visitor's browser through a crafted request. The $data['name'] parameter reaches generated page content without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping. No authentication is required, but a user must access the injected page; the script then runs in the affected site's browser origin.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
