Session theft via unsanitized stored chat messages
Published Feb 7, 2023 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Stored XSS in LogicalDOC Enterprise 8.8.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script through in-app chat messages. The chat view stores attacker-supplied image tags with event handlers and later renders them without neutralizing executable markup. Guest access is sufficient by default, but a victim must have the Chat tab selected or later open it, enabling theft of that victim's session cookie.
