Stored script execution via unescaped indexed document
Published Feb 7, 2023 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Stored XSS in OpenKM 6.3.12 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser through an indexed document. The indexing path preserves an HTML event handler from document text, and the properties and search-result views render that text without output encoding. A document containing the payload must enter the repository and be indexed, and another user must select it or retrieve it in search results; execution can expose that user's session and act with that user's permissions.
