Stored XSS via unsanitized indexed document content
Published Feb 7, 2023 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Stored XSS in ONLYOFFICE Workspace 12.1.0.1760 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser via a malicious document. The Docs search panel renders indexed document content without neutralizing embedded img error handlers or script tags. Attackers must get the document saved for indexing and a user must search its content; execution can expose the user's session or perform actions under that identity.
