Mass subscription via CAPTCHA bypass
Published Dec 14, 2022 · Updated Apr 21, 2025
CAPTCHA bypass in the TYPO3 fp_newsletter extension allows remote attackers to automate creation of arbitrary newsletter subscribers. Published material identifies the CAPTCHA gate but does not disclose the validation error or request field that causes a failed challenge to be accepted. Exploitation requires the optional third-party extension and a reachable subscription form, but no account or user interaction; the bounded impact is unwanted subscriber records.
