Cross-user quiz hijacking via missing ownership checks
Published Dec 14, 2022 · Updated Apr 21, 2025
Broken access control in Master-Quiz 2.2.0 and earlier and 3.0.0 through 3.5.1 allows remote attackers to read and modify quiz answers. The quiz-continuation path does not verify that the selected unfinished quiz belongs to the requester before loading and saving its answers. No authentication or user interaction is required; an exposed unfinished quiz permits cross-user disclosure and unauthorized answer changes.
