CVE-2022-47385Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via CmpAppForce stack overwrite

Published May 15, 2023 · Updated Mar 5, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in CmpAppForce in affected CODESYS products allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. Crafted CODESYS protocol requests make CmpAppForce write attacker-controlled data beyond a stack buffer. A valid product login is required; successful exploitation can also overwrite memory or crash the controller or simulation runtime.
