Local service interruption via unchecked buffer read
Published May 9, 2023 · Updated Jan 28, 2025
An out-of-bounds read in UNISOC phasecheck server on Android 10, Android 11, and Android 12 allows local users to interrupt service. The server reads beyond a buffer because it does not validate the relevant bounds before access. The triggering input and code path are undisclosed; System-level execution privileges are required, and the documented consequence is local service interruption.
