Configuration tampering via discovery protocol authentication bypass
Published May 22, 2023 · Updated Jan 16, 2025
Authentication bypass in Dataprobe iBoot-PDU firmware before 1.42.06162022 allows remote authenticated users to change device configuration. The basic discovery protocol accepts configuration operations through an alternate channel without enforcing normal management authorization. Network access and low privileges are required; successful use exposes basic device information and permits unauthorized settings changes without interrupting service.
