Unauthorized account access via case-variant duplicate usernames
Published Dec 23, 2022 · Updated Apr 9, 2025
Authentication bypass in IKUS Software Rdiffweb before 2.5.5 allows remote authenticated users to access another user's account. The login path performs an exact-case username lookup while account creation permits case variants, allowing duplicate identities to collide. Exploitation requires privileged account-creation access and a case-variant duplicate, after which the targeted account's backup data and controls become accessible.
