Arbitrary file read in Generex Systems CS141 Series before 2.06 allows remote attackers to obtain /etc/shadow through the web interface. The backup-restoration path follows a symbolic link embedded in an uploaded backup archive instead of rejecting link targets before file access. Access requires the device's default credentials, and the consequence is disclosure of files readable by the appliance service.
