Feature-pointer dismissal via missing nonce validation
Published May 25, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Performance Lab 2.2.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to dismiss administrator feature pointers. The dismiss-wp-pointer AJAX action accepts a state-changing request without valid nonce verification, so it runs under the administrator's active session. Exploitation requires an administrator to activate attacker-controlled content; the bounded effect is removal of new-feature notices.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
