Administrator account creation via cross-origin POST
Published Feb 3, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Creativeitem Academy LMS before 5.10 allows remote attackers to add an Administrator user via a crafted web page. The /academy/admin/admins/add route accepts cross-origin POST account data without requiring a request-bound anti-CSRF token. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to open the attacker-controlled page, after which the new account grants administrative access.
