Unauthenticated stored XSS via logged username
Published Oct 20, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in WP Cerber Security, Anti-spam & Malware Scan 9.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to run scripts via a crafted login username. The login attempt is written to the Activity log, whose dashboard view places the recorded username into an HTML attribute without sufficient output escaping. No authentication is required to plant the payload, but an administrator must open the Activity view and interact with the malicious username before code runs in that administrator's browser.
