Out-of-bounds read in p7zip 16.02 allows local users to crash the command-line utility by opening or testing a crafted ZIP archive. FindCd reads four bytes beginning one byte before its heap allocation while locating ZIP central-directory data. Processing of the crafted archive is required; the supplier disputes the reported overflow and limits the defect to an out-of-bounds read, while Debian reports no broader security impact.
