Code execution via broadcast-triggered archive path traversal
Published Apr 14, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Path traversal in Timmystudios Fast Typing Keyboard 1.275.1.162 allows attackers to overwrite internal files and execute code. The SuperThemeReceiver accepts an attacker-controlled archive path from an explicit THEME_APPLIED broadcast and processes traversal paths without containing writes to the intended directory. Exploitation requires a malicious Android app capable of sending the broadcast and supplying a crafted archive; overwritten internal files enable code execution in the keyboard application's context.
