Code execution via unsigned firmware update

Firmware verification bypass in TP-Link TL-WA901ND V1 3.11.2 and earlier and TL-WA901N V2 3.12.16 and earlier allows attackers to execute code. The updater accepts firmware protected only by replaceable MD5 header checksums and performs no signature verification, so modified kernel bytes pass integrity checks. Man-in-the-middle attackers must intercept a user-initiated HTTP firmware upload; flashing the image plants persistent code or renders the access point inoperable.
