Stored script execution via unrestricted public resource responses
Published Dec 23, 2022 · Updated Apr 10, 2025
Stored XSS in Memos before 0.9.0 allows remote attackers to execute script in another user's browser through a stored resource. The public resource handler returns stored uploads from the Memos origin without a Content-Security-Policy that restricts executable content. Exploitation requires a user to open the affected resource; injected script then runs in that user's Memos origin and can read or alter session-accessible data.
