CVE-2022-46884Network attack vector

Memory corruption via unretained refresh-driver reference

Published Aug 24, 2023 · Updated Oct 2, 2024

Use-after-free in SVG image handling in Mozilla Firefox before 106 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via crafted SVG content. SVGDocumentWrapper::TickRefreshDriver calls the refresh driver without retaining a strong reference, so destruction during the tick leaves the call operating on freed memory. A victim must load attacker-controlled SVG content; successful triggering can corrupt the browser process or terminate it.
