Client crash via WebGL out-of-bounds write
Published Dec 22, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Memory corruption in Firefox before 106, Firefox ESR before 102.6, and Thunderbird before 102.6 allows remote attackers to crash the client. SortAttributesByLayout can write before a stack buffer after collapsed draw-array processing requests invalid behavior from the ANGLE D3D11 backend. Exploitation requires user interaction with WebGL content; Thunderbird mail reading disables scripting, limiting exposure to browser-like contexts.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
