CVE-2022-4688Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Cross-account profile modification via client-controlled patch ID

Published Dec 23, 2022 · Updated Apr 9, 2025

Improper authorization in Memos before 0.9.0 allows remote authenticated users to change another user's profile fields. The UserPatch request body decodes its ID field from JSON, letting a supplied target ID override the route-selected user after authorization. A signed-in account is required; successful requests write another user's nickname, username, or email without permission.
