CVE-2022-4683Network attack vector

Session hijacking via insecure session cookie

Published Dec 23, 2022 · Updated Apr 9, 2025

Sensitive-cookie exposure in Memos before 0.9.0 allows remote authenticated users to hijack sessions through cleartext cookie transmission. The setUserSession function creates the memos_session cookie with HttpOnly and a 30-day lifetime but omits Secure, allowing browsers to attach it to HTTP requests. Exposure requires an HTTP path or downgrade from HTTPS and interception of a victim's transmitted cookie; the reported consequence is session access, not data modification or service interruption.
