XXE in IntelliJ IDEA before 2022.3 allows local users to trigger SSRF through requests to custom plugin repositories. The custom plugin repository response parser accepts XML that can resolve external entity URIs, causing the IDE to issue attacker-directed outbound requests. Exploitation requires local access and interaction with a crafted repository; the reported consequence is access to otherwise unreachable network resources.
