CVE-2022-46770Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Guest-triggered forwarding loss via console output loop

Published Dec 7, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Denial of service in qubes-mirage-firewall 0.8.0 through 0.8.3 allows guest OS users to halt forwarding via a crafted multicast UDP packet. The Solo5 Xen console writer assigns each partial-write length to its progress counter instead of accumulating it, so output exceeding the 2,048-byte buffer repeats indefinitely. A Qube attached through the firewall can trigger the loop with one malformed packet, driving CPU usage to 99 percent and stopping forwarding for every attached Qube.
