XML external entity injection in Apache Ivy 2.5.1 and earlier allows attackers to read local data through crafted XML files. Its shared XML parsing helpers permit document type declarations, fetch external DTDs, and expand entity references from Ivy settings, module descriptors, and Maven POMs. Attackers must cause Ivy to parse a controlled XML input; successful exploitation can disclose host-accessible data, reach internal resources, or interrupt Ivy execution.
