Administrator access via SNMP-exposed MAC-derived password
Published May 22, 2023 · Updated Jan 16, 2025
Weak credentials in Dataprobe iBoot-PDU Firmware before 1.42.06162022 allow remote attackers to derive the administrator password. SNMP exposes the device MAC address, while the factory administrator password uses admin plus the final three MAC-address segments. Exploitation requires reachable SNMP and an unchanged factory password, granting administrator access to the PDU management interface.
