CVE-2022-46718

Location disclosure via insufficient TCC restrictions

Published Jun 23, 2023 · Updated Dec 5, 2024

Information disclosure in macOS Big Sur before 11.7.2, Monterey before 12.6.2, or Ventura before 13.1 lets local users read location data. The TCC subsystem applies insufficient restrictions when an app requests protected location information; Apple has not disclosed the faulty code path. Exploitation requires a local user to run an app, and the bounded consequence is disclosure of sensitive location information without data modification or service interruption.
