Location disclosure in Apple iOS and iPadOS before 16.2 and macOS before 13.1 allows attackers to read metadata from iCloud photo links. The iCloud Photo Library sharing logic retains and transmits location metadata when the Share Sheet option intended to omit it is disabled. Exposure requires a user to create and distribute an iCloud link after disabling Location metadata; recipients obtain only the embedded location information.
