CVE-2022-46706

Kernel code execution via driver type confusion

Published Aug 14, 2023 · Updated Oct 9, 2024

Intel Graphics Driver type confusion in macOS Catalina, Big Sur before 11.6.5, and Monterey before 12.3 allows local users to execute kernel code. The driver mishandles object state and accesses a resource through an incompatible type, but Apple has not disclosed the affected function or input path. Exploitation requires a local application and user interaction, and successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code with kernel privileges.
