CVE-2022-46705Network attack vector

Address bar spoofing via mixed-script Punycode handling

Published Feb 27, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

URL spoofing in WebKit in Apple macOS before 13.1 allows remote attackers to alter the displayed address via a malicious website. The affected URL handling accepts Punycode U+0E01 in a non-Thai character context instead of rejecting the mixed-script label. Exploitation requires user interaction with attacker-controlled web content; the demonstrated consequence is address-bar spoofing, not code execution or data access.
