Stored script execution via unescaped shortcode attribute
Published Feb 21, 2023 · Updated Mar 12, 2025
Stored XSS in Page Builder: Live Composer before 1.5.23 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a visitor's browser. The dslc_notification shortcode returns its color attribute into page output without validation or context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient to store the payload; execution requires a visitor to view the affected page or post, where the script runs in that visitor's browser context.
