Secret extraction and SSRF via external entities
Published Dec 7, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
XXE in Jenkins Plot Plugin 2.1.11 and earlier allows attackers to extract controller secrets or initiate server-side requests. XMLSeries.loadSeries passes attacker-controlled build-step XML to an XPath parser that resolves external entities declared in DOCTYPE content. Attackers must control an XML input file consumed by the configured Plot build data step; exploitation can read controller files or reach internal services.
