Local privilege escalation via unquoted service path
Published Dec 21, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Unquoted service path in Corel Corporation Roxio Creator LJB 12.2 allows local users to execute code with Windows service privileges. The Roxio SAIB Windows service registers an executable path containing spaces without quotation marks, causing Windows to search earlier path segments for an executable. Exploitation requires high local privileges to place a malicious executable at the searched path; service startup then runs it with the service account privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
